Our Story

May 2007 – a simple conversation between two ladies who regularly networked for business, to meet other likeminded ladies hoping both to grow and make good connections. ‘Wouldn’t it be great to just meet for a coffee without having to pay all these membership fees’ and there it was – Ladies Who Latte was born.

Sharon Connolly has since moved to Australia but her roots are in the business and she remains a valued part of the company.

Mary Flavelle carried on with the development and growth ably helped by Billie Sharp looking after all the technical requirements and website. Over the years the two girls have grown together into a real partnership as the company has grown. They have been more recently joined by Dawn Edwards who keeps an eye on the business side with Companies House.

Ladies Who Latte is like trying to catch a falling star, a rolling stone or stop the waves. In just one year the group grew to over 600 and delighted to have 30 groups popping up around the UK. We have had many enquiries from around the world: Jersey, Singapore, Australia, South Africa, Canada, France, Scotland, Ireland and Wales – ‘Can we start a group?’  And there you have it – a simple idea and a huge story many years later with over 100 groups in UK and in the region of 14K ladies.

The greatest asset to Ladies Who Latte are the amazing Latte Leaders who give their time to looking after their group like a new family. Life and past experiences can cause low self-esteem, it is the worth of the group to help those people learn how to strive to achieve great things, by example and inspiration. To see the friendships that develop out of the love, respect and support in helping others no matter what the size of the business, is the epitome of their success.

Our grateful thanks also to the venues who host our meetings for free and who support their local community group. Thanks also to Facebook as each group has its own page to grow their membership and help stay in contact between meetings.

Ladies Who Latte membership is free. It is for women to support other women in business and offer a hand of friendship and expertise to another person. I cannot imagine life without Ladies Who Latte, as it has stood the test of time, and proved that a stranger at a Latte group is your next best friend. To be continued...
